Josh Brolin To Play Thanos Thrice More For Marvel?

showbiz-comic-con-day-3-944

Appearing albeit briefly in last week’s phenomenally successful GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, Josh Brolin has been talking about how much more we can expect to see of Thanos. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, which has just taken $219 million at the box office, an impressive feat considering the film is still in its first week of release, saw Brolin play Thanos for the first, but not last time.

Although not heavily featured Thanos is a big character in the GUARDIANS realm, he’s the adoptive father of Gamora for a start. Given his relationship to the female assassin he will surely make another appearance in the franchise. His enemies don’t stop with James Gunn’s team though as he also has beef with Joss Whedon’s AVENGERS, remember he was glimpsed during the post-credit scene? The fans seem determined for an AVENGERS/GUARDIANS crossover and surely he’d be the ideal candidate to bring the two heroic forces together?

Whilst speaking to IGN Brolin coyly discussed how much more Thanos we can expect to see. He confirmed that he has ‘an idea’ as to where Marvel intend to take the master villain, but he is unclear as to the full story arc at the moment. He did tease “I know what one appearance is going to be for sure. There’s one or two [more] that I don’t know”.

Start placing your bets now folks as to which three films Thanos will appear in. At least one of them, possibly the last one, will surely have him take center-stage as the main ‘big bad’. Up to now he has been the bad guy behind the bad man, locked away securely just out of reach and lets face it we all want to see what all the fuss is about with him.

Brolin will next be on our screens in the long-awaited SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR which is released in the UK on 29th August.
