Laika have been promoting their latest stop-motion animation with a hint of darkness that is necessary when dealing with creatures that only come out at night. However, dark isn’t always what sells, especially when it comes to kid’s features, therefore this recent poster puts the action into daylight. From the makers of CORALINE and PARANORMAN, this looks to be yet another wonderful tale with original elements as well as classic storytelling. It sees a young boy raised by a group of night dwelling trolls. In the spirit of Huey Lewis, the poster dares us to be square. Although it’s yet another outsider comedy, we’re sure the star studded voice cast will add plenty to the spirit of the film.
THE BOXTROLLS arrives on 12th September 2014 in the UK and 26th September 2014 in the US. It stars the voices of Elle Fanning, Simon Pegg, Toni Collette, Nick Frost, Ben Kingsley, Tracy Morgan, Jared Harris, and Richard Ayoade.
