After watching the viral video for NIGHTCRAWLER that subtly appeared earlier this week, I’m already sold on this film for which Jake Gyllenhaal lost 20lb and appears to be going a little mad sometimes.
Written by THE FALL and THE BOURNE LEGACY’s Dan Gilroy, this one is a dive into the mind of susceptible young man Louis Bloom. On the plot side of things, all we currently know is that he ‘stumbles’ upon the underground world of L.A. freelance crime journalism and from this trailer really gets into it.
What I particularly like about this first full look is it doesn’t give away an excessive amount about what’s to come but more than enough to see Gyllenhaal turn from super calm towards intensely crazy. He’s truly a man at the top of his game. This one is Dan Gilroy’s directorial debut and co-stars Bill Paxton and Rene Russo:
NIGHTCRAWLER opens on the 17th October in North America and on 14th November in the UK.
