It’s not every day to get to grab some official, original props and costumes from your favourite films or TV shows, so we’re a little over-excited that Prop Store are bringing their movie collectibles to London for their first ever huge live auction!
This event is being produced in partnership with Vue Entertainment and will feature over 375 original film, television props and costumes that’ll go under the hammer this October at Vue’s flagship cinema in Westfield, London. You’ll also be able to get up close and personal with some of the most valuable and iconic pieces on offer, as they’re also putting on a free two week exhibition at Vue Westfield from 1st October.
As much as THN don’t want to spend their minimal funds, we know how you feel, Prop Store have told us that there will be a catalogue that will suit all budgets, one of the least expensive items up for grabs is a film crew jacket from the set of STAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACE, estimated to go for an affordable £80 – That’s a bargain really. But there’s also something pretty special, if you’re super rich, as the most lucrative prop being auctioned is the aluminium chair designed by the late H.R Giger as a concept for DUNE that is expected to fetch up to £80K. I’m sure it’d look great anywhere in the house, right?!
Here’s some of the other big things going up:
- Marty McFly’s (Michael J. Fox) Hoverboard – Back to the Future: Part II – £14 – 18K
- Captain Nemo’s Nautilus Car – The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen – £40 – 60K
- Batmobile Model Miniature – Batman Forever – £20 – 30K
- The Terminator’s Leather Biker Costume – Terminator 2: Judgment Day – £18 – 22K
- Wonka’s Golden Ticket – Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory – £15 – 20K
- Scaramanga’s Short Sleeve Shirt – James Bond: The Man with the Golden Gun – £5 – 7K
Time to start saving? Yeah…
The Prop Store Live Auction in partnership with Vue Cinemas will take place at Vue Westfield in London on Thursday 16th October. Auction items will be on display at a free exhibition at Vue Westfield, open to the public from Thursday 1st October until Thursday 16th October.
