The Mockingjay Lives In New ‘Hunger Games’ Teaser

There are still four months to go until the first of two Mockingjay films THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 1 arrives in cinemas and the superb publicity behind the film continued this week with the second President Snow address.

This one started much like the first, with Donald Sutherland spouting propaganda about unity and keeping former victor Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) at his side to prove how in control he is. This second teaser, however, threw fans into a frenzy. At first, the shock was simply at the inclusion of Johanna Mason (Jena Malone), who said herself in Catching Fire that she cannot be hurt anymore because there’s nobody left she loves. Yet, the feisty Johanna is seen standing at the president’s side for the address, just like Peeta. Though there are no smiles to be seen, with both of them looking very serious and more like furniture, she does manage to get in some hand-on-hip action so it seems there’s fire in her still!

Surrounded by peacekeepers, the address then takes a dramatic turn as the signal cuts out and Beetee’s voice takes over. “This is a pirate transmission from District 13, I repeat, this is a pirate transmission from District 13 with a message – the Mockingjay lives.” Beetee’s face can only be seen clearly for a second or two but the impact is astounding.

The first presidential address highlighted the words ‘unity’, ‘prosperity’ and ‘sacrifice’ so with unity already covered, does that mean we have prosperity and sacrifice still to come? What – or who – will President Snow be talking about when it comes to sacrifice? What many fans really want to know is whether or not Katniss will finally make an appearance in these teasers.

Whatever happens, it looks like the president will not be too pleased about the hijacking of the airwaves, watch it now:

Francis Lawrence returns to direct THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 1 which is slated for release this November and sees the return of Jennifer Lawrence, Donald Sutherland, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson and Sam Claflin along with new faces Julianne Moore and Natalie Dormer.
