Based on a novel of the same name, WILD recounts the story of Cheryl Strayed, the book’s author who decided to walk thousand miles to escape hardships at home. I guess you could say she “Strayed” really far…or not. Jean-Marc Vallee, fresh off DALLAS BUYER’S CLUB, directs Reese Witherspoon in the lead role. Strayed’s memoir is an international best seller and has received man critical plaudits.
The poster itself is very striking, mostly for its simplicity. The expansive landscape comes to life in a photograph that is either not, or not noticeably, Photoshopped. Interesting enough, the screenplay was written by novelist Nick Hornby who most will know from the likes of ABOUT A BOY and HIGH FIDELITY.
WILD is released in the US on 5th December 2014 and in the UK on 23rd January 2015. It stars Reese Witherspoon, Gaby Hoffman, Laura Dern and Michiel Huisman.
