They shelled out the cash and distributed the first two movies in Kevin Smith’s CLERKS series, but it looks like Bob and Harvey Weinstein are not going to stump up the cash to make CLERKS III. In the 20th anniversary year of the original movie’s release, Smith told the folks over at Screen Daily that the two Hollywood uber-moguls have officially passed.
“[The Weinsteins] passed. I went in with a $6m budget and they were, like, ‘Oh no Kevin, this is too high’. Bob offered us distribution but they weren’t going to finance it,”
