Oh oh, someone at the BBC is in trouble! After the unexpected release of five scripts from Doctor Who’s upcoming series eight, BBC have released a statement urging fans to keep any information they have seen from the leaked scripts to themselves.

BBC Worldwide have confirmed they are treating this as a security issue but rumours are rife with different possibilities (popular one seems to be that the script leak happened after the scripts were sent to BBC’s new Latin America headquarters for translation purposes). While there has been no confirmation so far, The BBC have said in a statement they “deeply regret” what has happened and apologise to “all the show’s fans, the BBC and the cast and crew who have worked tirelessly making the series.”

The statement then goes on to say:

“We would like to make a plea to anyone who might have any of this material and spoilers associated with it not to share it with a wider audience so that everyone can enjoy the show as it should be seen when it launches. We know only too well that Doctor Who fans are the best in the world and we thank them for their help with this and their continued loyalty.”

Doctor Who is set to return with Peter Capaldi as The Doctor 23rd August on BBC One.
