The next X-Men movie is set to hit cinemas in 2016. We know this. We also know that it will be called X-MEN: APOCALYPSE and will be set sometime in the 1980s, ten years after (most) of the events of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Just yesterday, the film’s director Bryan Singer Instagramed a tease at the first page of the script for ‘Apocalypse,’ which seemed to reveal the names Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris (X2) as being attached to the show. Simon Kinberg is lead writer (see what he said about the screenwriting process with us at the UK premiere of ‘Future Past’ here).
There also seemed to be an element set in Egypt, as the word Nile was also included, as well as the ‘The Four Horseman,’ who featured in the comics as “The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse.”
That’s about all we decipher from the tease, but expect more as production approaches early next year for a May, 2016 release worldwide.
