PS3 ‘Godzilla’ Game Gets A Trailer

Bandai Namco, the company behind today’s release of One Piece: Unlimited World Red have just released a trailer for a PS3 exclusive game focused on the king of the monsters himself, GODZILLA. GODZILLA tore up cinematic audiences this summer, although the big lizard is still awaiting a release in his homeland. The game however will hit Japan first, with a release date sometime later this year.

As is evidenced in the trailer, the game will focus on Godzilla’s entire history, and unlike the recent Legendary adaptation, the classic Akira Ifukube theme is utilised. Although I’m a great lover of Godzilla, the big G hasn’t had the greatest of records when it comes to computer game outings, with the idea of smashing buildings and fighting monsters being fun at first, but soon losing its novelty. This is also a PS3 rather than a next gen PS4 release and we don’t get a real feel for the game play. The graphics look less than incredible, but this may be the replicate the use of men in suits from the original films. Hopefully it will all come together, but we’re a long way from the likes of Rampage.
