Idris Elba has been a force to be reckoned with over the last year, and he’s set to continue his reign of awesomeness with his new movie BEASTS OF NO NATION.
Written and directed by Cary Fukunaga, BEASTS OF NO NATION tells the story of a young boy named Agu who is forced to join a group of soliders in an unnamed West African country. It is an adaptation of the 2005 novel of the same name by Uzodinma Iweala. Elba, who is also producing the project, will play the role of Commandment, the brutal leader of the guerrilla army.
Elba has been everywhere over the last year, from MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM to the fantastic Luther, and 2014 looks set to be just as bigger for the actor. Fukunaga has also had a brilliant year helming HBO’s True Detective, and he is set to return as an executive producer for the second season.
BEASTS OF NO NATION is currently filming in Ghana, no release date is set just yet.
