‘The Batman’ Solo Film Set For 2019?

bpCTMuE

Now don’t get too excited, but Latino Review is reporting (as a rumour) that Ben Affleck’s Batman will get his first solo silver screen venture in 2019, just one year after the proposed MAN OF STEEL 2 release and that it will be aptly named THE BATMAN. Take this news with a pinch of salt ladies and gents, as apparently it’s unlikely this will be revealed at any upcoming Comic Cons any time soon according to the website.

It also seems as if DC and Warner seem to have made the ever-so-confident decision of placing the first solo-film of one of their most successful comic-book heroes all the way back to 2019. This is in a way good news, as it means we’ll finally get our WONDER WOMAN solo venture before Batman resurfaces. Whilst 2019 might seem like an eternity away (and it sort of is), it’s not as if it will be the first we’ll see of Batfleck, considering BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is well on its way, probably hitting production later this year and the as-of-yet untitled JUSTICE LEAGUE film being filmed shortly after.

Yet, the question on everyone’s mind is… If it happens, who is directing it? Affleck has a bit of a record for starring in the films he directs (ARGO and THE TOWN, for example), will he perhaps be directing this too? Whilst it would give him essentially complete creative control over the final product, we have to ask ourselves is whether Affleck’s vision of Batman is the same as ours. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

But before we start kicking up a fuss about his solo-film, set for five years from now, let’s continue waiting avidly (or anxiously) for his debut performance in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, which will be directed by Zack Snyder. It will feature the likes of returning and new cast alike, including Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter. It is set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016.
