I think that I have a new favourite podcast, and that is the Q+A Podcast With Jeff Goldsmith. Goldsmith interviews a popular filmmaker/ artist every week, and over the past couple he’s sat down with the likes of Jon Favreau, Nicholas Stoller and even the legend that is Mel Brooks. On his latest effort, the screenwriter of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, Simon Kinberg, sits down to chat about the Marvel franchise as well as many other things, but the interesting tidbit that we’ve picked out is the news that was dropped where Kinberg confirmed that the next film in the series, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, will take place in 1983, ten years after the events of ‘Future Past.’
James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, and Evan Peters will return for the sequel, which is scheduled for release in 2016.
Take a listen to Goldsmith’s podcast over here (the juicy stuff is 1 hour and 12 minutes in), and while you’re there, get your listening tackle around some of his other episodes. Really interesting stuff.
