Upcoming fake-police-comedy LET’S BE COPS isn’t hitting cinemas till August, but you can get a glimpse of things to come with two new trailers.
The movie follows two down and outs (New Girl stars Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr.) whose idea to go to a fancy-dress party as cops goes a bit too far. So convincing are their outfits, that they’re mistaken for real life officers. We all know the ladies like a man in uniform, and Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries) is soon being duped by the pair. However, in an not unsurprising turn of events, local crime boss (Andy Garcia) soon gets tied up in the double-act’s shenanigans.
You can view the two trailers below. Be warned – the red band one is NSFW (there’s a fair amount of swearing). Green band trailer is up first.
LET’S BE COPS is out 13 August in the US and 27 August in the UK. It’s directed by Luke Greenfield and stars Jake Johnson, Damon Wayans, Jr., Andy García, Nina Dobrev, Rob Riggle, Keegan-Michael Key and James D’Arcy.

Claire Joanne Huxham comes from the south-west, where the cider flows free and the air smells of manure. She teaches A-level English by day and fights crime by night. When not doing either of these things she can usually be found polishing her Star Trek DVD boxsets. And when she can actually be bothered she writes fiction and poetry that pops up on the web and in print. Her favourite film in the whole world, ever, is BLADE RUNNER.
