It has been reported that British actors Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch have been shortlisted by Marvel to star in the future DOCTOR STRANGE film based on the 60s comic book hero.
Rumors are currently running wild about who will be in Marvel’s new project. A director has already been hired in the form of Scott Derrickson (SINISTER and THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL) but it hasn’t been confirmed who will be starring in the film yet. Interestingly, Marvel have apparently already shortlisted actors they want, which include Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch. Johnny Depp’s name was also thrown around in recent weeks and also Jared Leto, however, Marvel’s eyes seem to be set on Hardy and Cumberbatch. Who knows – they may cast both of them in the film.
