Ones To Watch: ‘In The Flesh’ Series Two Finale

in the flesh episode six picture

*PLEASE NOTE – THIS POST CONTAINS AN EPISODE DESCRIPTION FROM THE BBC THAT HAS MINOR SPOILERS FOR EPISODE SIX OF IN THE FLESH, IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED DO NOT CONTINUE*

We’ve laughed, we’ve cried…we’ve cried some more, BBC Three’s In The Flesh has taken us all on a bit of a emotional roller coaster in its second series. But don’t think just because it’s end is nigh it’s going to be Simon, Kieren and Amy riding off into the sunset. Oh no!

The finale comes together at Roarton’s annual Winter fete, but Kieren finds himself locked in his bedroom getting ready to be shipped off back to Norfolk’s PDS clinic after being accused of freeing untreated sufferers at the local GP. But poor ol’ Ren, Simon and Gary are coming after him – for two very different reasons. Meanwhile, Maxine Martin’s storyline finally comes to light, and Amy and Philip deal with the prejudices of being a inter-partially deceased syndrome couple.

In The Flesh has been pivotal watching over the last six weeks, proving to everybody just how much the show’s double BAFTA win was well deserved. While Luke Newberry still steals the show yet again as the timid yet brave Kieren Walker, supporting rotters Emmett Scanlan and Emily Bevan will most definitely be up there with him next year during TV award season.

At a time where BBC Three’s future is in doubt, we have not heard anything about a possible series three of In The Flesh just yet. But with its BAFTA wins and newly found fan following (shout out to The Rotters!) you just better hope there’s a series three on the way…or there’s gonna be some rabids on the loose!

In The Flesh concludes tonight, 10pm on BBC Three.
