Some breaking news on this Saturday evening! Marvel have just confirmed the director for ANT-MAN. Replacing British helmer Edgar Wright on the movie is American comedy-director Peyton Reed (YES MAN, THE BREAK-UP). The helmer joins the project along with Adam McKay, who was also linked to the director’s chair just last week before officially passing. Turns out he IS on board and will be contributing to rewriting the script by Wright and Joe Cornish.
The film will make its debut on 17th July, 2015. Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas are starring.
Here’s the official synopsis, as provided this afternoon by the studio.
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
