So did you think that the mega cast announcement for STAR WARS VII at the start of May was the end of it? Didn’t it all feel a little male-centric with the likes of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Max Von Sydow and Adam Driver being the main announcements? Well news has just broke confirming that the casting isn’t quite finished yet with actresses Gwendoline Christie and Lupita Nyong’o joining J. J. Abrams’ highly anticipated film.
Christie will certainly please many as her role of Brienne of Tarth in HBO’s mega-hit series Game of Thrones is a firm fan favourite. Nyong’o who has hit the big time following her incredible performance in last year’s award-smash 12 YEARS A SLAVE has been long rumoured to become part of the project. No news about either woman’s role has been revealed but the news has definitely boosted our interest in the project.
Episode seven is the first part of what will become a third trilogy for George Lucas’ franchise. Shooting is well under way with filming in Abu Dhabi already completed (see all 45 set pics here) with production shifting over to London shores at the historic Pinewood Studios.
STAR WARS VII will hit screens worldwide on December 18th 2015.
