THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN villain Rhys Ifans is reportedly in talks to join the cast of THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, the sequel to Tim Burton’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
Johnny Depp will reprise his role as The Mad Hatter, with Ifans rumoured to be joining the cast as Depp’s father, Zanik Hightopp. Although both men look young for their ages, Ifans is actually four years younger than Depp (Rhys is 46, Johnny is 50), so we imagine a lot of prosthetic work will go into creating Zanik. Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham Carter will also be returning for the film, with James Bobin (MUPPETS MOST WANTED, Flight Of The Conchords) taking the helm with this one.
THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS has been given a predicted release date of 27th May 2016.
What do you think? Were you a fan of the first film? Is Ifans the right choice? Let us know!

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.

I love it! Two of my favorite actors together. I find Rhys will bring a twist to the role as Depp’s father. I really liked the first one, but I know I will Absolutely LOVE! The sequel. I can’t wait.
