The promotion for HBO series The Leftovers is ramping up with another teaser trailer released today; with Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ providing the sultry soundtrack, yet here covered by The Kills. The song, all about accepting loneliness and what you have lost, is extremely apt for the show which is an adaptation of the Tom Perrotta novel of the same name in which 2% of the world’s population suddenly disappears and those left behind struggle to come to terms with what has happened.
This new teaser is running with the grief theme not seen in previous trailers and it’s our first look at the tone of the series; which stars Liv Tyler and Justin Theroux. HBO does dramas like no other and we can now officially say we are excited at the prospect of this show – which considering there isn’t yet a UK release date is pretty bad timing! Also starring Amy Brenneman, Carrie Coon, Christopher Eccleston, Ann Dowd, Amanda Warren and Michael Gaston The Leftovers will debut on HBO after the Game of Thrones series four finale in June and fingers crossed for a UK airing soon after (Sky Atlantic – we’re looking at you!).
Here’s your Fleetwood Mac song dosage now:
