Now this is a bit of a blast from the past, but the film JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS has added a new cast member, 80s star Molly Ringwald. She’ll be joining Aubrey Peeples, Stefanie Scott, Hayley Kiyoko, Aurora Perrineau and Ryan Guzman in the film based on the 1985 series, about Jem, the alter ego of a woman called Jerrica Benton. She gets a bit of help from a holographic computer called Synergy that allows her to perform rock concerts. Sounds a bit like Hannah Montana, except it includes futuristic holograms and doesn’t have Miley Cyrus (thank god).
Ringwald has done her fair share of films, such as SIXTEEN CANDLES, PRETTY IN PINK, and most famously, THE BREAKFAST CLUB, so hopefully she’ll still shine.
