THIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU has an absolute master cast in the shape of Tina Fey, Jason Bateman, Rose Byrne, Kathryn Hahn, Connie Britton, Ben Schwartz, Timothy Olyphant, Corey Stoll, Abigail Spencer, Aaron Lazar, Ari Graynor, Debra Monk, Dax Shepard, and Jane Fonda. Just a few big names then!
They’re all together for Shawn Levy’s (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) dysfunctional family comedy, which is an adaptation of Jonathan Tropper’s novel. When their father dies, all the adults have to return to their childhood home and live together as they did as kids. But, as you’d expect, there are many confrontations along the way as they try to reconnect after many changes through the years gone by. I’m hoping for less of a HORRIBLE BOSSES vibe, which I think is sometimes a little over-acted and more of a PARENTHOOD style that manages to find that perfect gap between responsibility and going a bit crazy.
