It’s still saddening to think that this will be Philip Seymour Hoffman’s final leading role, even writing that is disheartening, but saying that we’re very confident we’ll be left with something so strong that can only continue his legacy of being one of the best of our generation.
Directed by Anton Corbijn, A MOST WANTED MAN see Hoffman plays the role Günther Bachmann, an intelligence agent who’s in Hamburg and stuck in-between making the decision to either lock up a suspected Islamic immigrant with alleged terrorist ties (Grigoriy Dobrygin) or to set him up as the front of a bigger threat.
Hoffman’s character is up against Robin Wright’s U.S. intelligence official, and Rachel McAdam’s immigration attorney and from the previous trailer, it looks wonderfully balanced. Check out the poster below and we can’t wait to see the master back up on the big screen, even if it’s for one of the last new times:
A MOST WANTED MAN opens in the USA on July 25th but sadly not until September 5th in the UK.
