Jennifer Morrison Joins Kevin Bacon at ‘6 Miranda Drive’

Jennifer Morrison

Once Upon A Time star Jennifer Morrison is swapping fairy tale beasties for floorboard-creaking ghoulies as she signs up for a supernatural thriller from the writer/director of WOLF CREEK. Co-starring Kevin Bacon, 6 MIRANDA DRIVE concerns a family who bring more than holiday snaps back from their vacation in the form of a chilling presence.

Morrison will play a supporting role and this should make a solid addition to her growing movie roster. About to appear with Karen Gillan in THE LIST, she also had parts in STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS and Tom Hardy fightfest WARRIOR. To me she’ll always be Dr Cameron from House M.D., though she certainly deserves roles further afield. The presence of Australian horrormeister Greg McLean on script and megaphoning duties is further sign of something good, as well as a performance from fellow countrywoman Radha Mitchell (PITCH BLACK). Bacon has been long overdue a decent lead cinematic role, having migrated to TV for THE FOLLOWING. UK viewers may well know him purely for his EE network ads, where he spends the majority of his time cluelessly jabbering about Ken Barlow and Paddy McGuinness.

Blumhouse (INSIDIOUS) are producing and Universal will be distributing. The haunted home concept has become well-worn over the past few years and if we’re getting something about a house with something out of Chortle & The Wheelies in it then I’m not interested – it’s been done to death and then further bludgeoned in the afterlife. Though if McLean has something more original up his sleeve the attractive cast could well have a hit on their hands.
