There’s a few videos doing the rounds today featuring the one-take set-ups from a lot of Steven Speilberg’s movies. I wasn’t actually going to post this but I was drawn in by the sheer genius of them, and ended watching all of them in their entirety, so naturally felt compelled to share them with our readers.
One-take, zero cut sequences have become the norm over the past few decades, with the likes of Kubrick and Scorsese employing them (who could forget the Copacabana entrance from GOODFELLAS), along with, more recently, Alfonso Cuaron, whose more drawn out efforts in CHILDREN OF MEN and GRAVITY, delighted audiences around the world. But really, nobody truly nails them like Spielberg.
Take a look at these three videos below, and immerse yourself in the company of the master. How many do you remember?
