First Trailer For NBC’s ‘Constantine’ Series

DC’s Constantine series has recently had a full series order from the folks at NBC as well as announcing an airtime of 10pm on Fridays this coming autumn. Matt Ryan plays the role that Keanu Reeves took on in the Hollywood adaptation, as an exorcist whose soul is doomed to hell and tries to make up for it by fighting evil. The series will see Constantine try and give up his life as a saviour of man and protector of souls, only for the daughter of his best friend to be targeted by demons.

This first trailer mixes some great moments of horror, action and humour, with Matt Ryan showing he’s much more suited to the role than Reeves was. Despite some swearing and violence clearly prominent, as we would expect from pilot director Neil Marshall, it doesn’t look as though Constantine will be smoking. Fans of the comic will know that Constantine’s lung cancer is kind of a big deal, so whether they’ll just ignore that aspect of the character or not is yet to be seen. Overall it looks like a lot of fun, but dark fun, and with a whole backlog of material to work with, we’re sure the show can continue for some time.
