Jennifer Lawrence Talks Popularity And Red Carpet Slip-Ups

'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' premiere

With three academy award nominations, two Hollywood franchises, and one academy award win under her belt at the age of 23, Jennifer Lawrence certainly can’t be accused of being lazy. The stunning and amazingly talented actress is (arguably) Hollywood’s favourite young star at the moment, and with X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and two more HUNGER GAMES films to come, that likely wont stop any time soon.

However Lawrence isn’t just well known for being ridiculously popular and extremely talented, she is also iconic for a few more small, human characteristics that add to growing list of reasons why we love her. Lawrence is not only an avid fan of television’s Homeland, but she has also (adorably) tripped over her dress at two separate academy award ceremonies…one of which was on the way to the stage to receive her award! Now the gorgeous star has been chatting about her immense popularity and her falls at the aforementioned award ceremonies, you can check out what she had to say below:

‘Nobody can stay beloved forever. I never believed it, the whole time. I was like, just wait: People are going to get sick of me. My picture is everywhere, my interviews are everywhere; I’m way too annoying because I get on red carpets and I’m really hyper, most likely because I’ve been drinking, and I can’t not photo-bomb somebody if it’s a good opportunity. But it’s something I always tell myself: ‘You need to calm the f— down. You don’t want to constantly be a GIF’.

‘If people want to start the backlash, I’m the captain of that team,’ she says. ‘As much as you hate me, I’m 10 steps ahead of you’.

Lawrence also discussed Jared Leto’s claim that her second Oscar trip was intentional:

‘If I were Jared Leto, I would completely agree. But trust me, if I was going to plan it, I would have done it at the Golden Globes or the SAGs. I would have never done it at two Oscars in a row. I watch Homeland — I’m craftier than that!’

Lawrence once again re-affirmed that she would like to take a break from acting in the near future stating:

‘However long that takes.… It might be a couple of months’.

Lawrence also addressed the tragic death of Philip Seymour Hoffman:

‘I work very hard to forget that day. It just sucks. When you lose a friend, someone who you really like and who makes you laugh, it takes so long for it to sink in’.

And finally the X-MEN actress revealed that she is not bitter about losing a second Oscar to lupita Nyong’o:

‘It’s beautiful when you watch something good happen to somebody when it’s well deserved’.

Lawrence’s self-deprecating, honest personality just makes her even more endearing in my opinion, and I can’t wait to see more of the brilliant actress as soon as possible! She will next be seen in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, which will hit theatres on 22nd May.
