Damian Lewis is proving that there is life after Homeland! It has been revealed that the actor is set to play King Henry VIII in BBC Two’s Wolf Hall.
Wolf Hall, an adaptation of a novel of the same name by Hilary Mantel, is a fictional biography documenting the rise to power of Thomas Cromwell in the court of Henry VIII through to the death of Sir Thomas More. The six-part series was written by TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY’s Peter Straughan and will be directed by Peter Kosminsky.
He joins already announced cast of Sherlock’s Mark Gatiss, Mark Rylance, Jessice Raine, Claire Foy, Jonathan Pryce, and Joanne Whalley, who will play Henry VIII’s first wife Katherine of Aragon.
Wolf Hall is currently in production, and is set to air sometime in 2015.
