‘Jem And The Holograms’ Reveal Cast And Poster

Children of the Eighties may be happy to know that yet another beloved cartoon/toy is getting the movie treatment, in the form of JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS. Having ran from 1985 – 1988 Jem and the Holograms, followed music exec Jerrica and alter-ego Jem the pink-haired lead-singer of band ‘The Holograms’. The show had a range of dolls released, with viewers able to buy their favourite to enjoy the show with. It also featured one of the catchiest/cheesiest theme tunes of the decade – if you don’t believe us check it out on You Tube.

The film version will see Jem as an orphan girl whose online recordings make her the next big sensation. So essentially a film that most tween-age girls will love.

Having only  been announced as recently as March 20th the project is being rushed through the system and already started production. The cast however have only just been announced, consisting off young up-and-comers who are pretty new to the business. Jem will be played by Nashville‘s Audrey Peeples, with her friends and band mates being formed as follows; little sister Kimber is to be played by A.N.T. Farm‘s Stefanie Scott, Shana by Pretty Little Liars’ Aurora Perrineau and Aja will be played by the newest of the group, Hayley Kiyoko.

The director John M. Chu is actively encouraging fan participation with the project – should you yourself want to get in on the action you can check out the film’s Tumblr page for more info. It was on the Tumblr page that the first teaser poster was unveiled, check it out below:
