Camera’s have finally begun rolling on one of the most highly anticipated films of all time, with Joss Whedon currently filming his Marvel sequel AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON in our very own capital. Fans were overjoyed when it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. had signed on to reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man for both AVENGERS 2 & 3, after his contract with Marvel Studios expired with IRON MAN 3.
Ever since the charismatic star blew audiences away with his portrayal of the famous comic character in 2008’s IRON MAN, fans have adored his every appearance in subsequent Marvel productions. With THE AVENGERS and IRON MAN 3 currently sitting at the third and fifth spots on the highest grossing film list, it’s no surprise that Disney executives were extremely eager for Downey to return for further instalments. After already getting our first glimpses of Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner on the AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON set, Robert Downey Jr. has now revealed that he has joined the rest of his team. Check out the first behind the scenes photo of Downey with executive producer Jeremy Latcham below!:
Although this picture obviously doesn’t reveal anything other than the fact that Downey has joined the set of the film, it’s still great to see that iconic Stark goatee back as he gets ready to reprise the role once again. AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Paul Bettany, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, James Spader, Thomas Kretschmann and Don Cheadle.
