Tense ‘Cold In July’ Trailer

Jim Mickle, the director behind recent cult classics STAKE LAND and WE ARE WHAT WE ARE returns to the big screen with COLD IN JULY. The film, based on the novel by Joe R. Lansdale, sees a man (Michael C. Hall) protect his house by shooting an intruder dead. However, things become complicated when it appears the police have played switcharoo with the bodies, claiming he has killed somebody else entirely. If that’s not bad enough, the recently paroled father (Sam Shepard) of the man the police claim was killed, is out for revenge.

The film certainly looks dark, mysterious and incredibly tense, with a series of great performances thrown in too. Mickle has done nothing but impress in his career so far, so let’s hope this is the best yet.

COLD IN JULY is released in the US on 23rd May and in the UK on 27th June. It stars Michael C. Hall, Sam Shepard, Don Johnson, Vinessa Shaw, Wyatt Russell, and Nick Damici.
