Queen Musical ‘ We Will Rock You’ Grabs Sequel

we will rock you grabs sequel

After news arrived last month that Queen musical We Will Rock You is finishing up in the West End after a 12 year run, creator Brian May has posted on his blog to confirm a sequel is in the works. Currently titled Seek – The Show Must Go On, the show has passed the first creative stage, workshopping, and will now hopefully move into the next phase.  May is working on the show with fellow We Will Rock You writer Ben Elton and several of the show’s cast members featured in the workshopping. Here’s what May had to say on his blog which he posted alongside a photo of the creative team and cast.

Seek - The Show Must Go On

We Will Rock You tells the story of a dystopian world in which real music has been sacrificed for computer generated stars. A group called The Real Bohemians, who are inspired by the legends of the golden age of Rock, set out to overthrow the cyber stars so they can perform their own music. It features over 30 Queen tracks, including Radio Gaga, Bohemian Rhapsody and Under Pressure.  It has been performed over 4000 times to 6.5 million people, and has won numerous awards here and around the world. It will officially close 31st May 2014. No details regarding Seek – The Show Must Go On are yet known in terms of plot but here’s hoping more of the Queen back catalogue gets an airing for the music!
