It was reported earlier this year that Anna Paquin, one if the main stars of the original trioligy, had been cut from the latest X-MEN film. During the edit of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, director Bryan Singer confessed that due to time constraints he has unfortunately had to cut the only scene to star Paquin’s mutant alter-ego Rogue. It would seem that something has changed though as Fox have confirmed that she will make an appearance albiet in a much smaller cameo role.
The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed the True Blood actresses name in the credits of the final trailer. If you didn’t then why not re-watch it here and see for yourself.
Considering the time-travel element of the story that will essentially bridge Singer’s branch to the Matthew Vaughn’s, it was not at all surprising that someone got cut. Let’s just hope the re-instatement doesn’t detract from the film which is already plenty mutant heavy.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Ellen Page, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Shawn Ashmore, Evan Peters, Anna Paquin, Peter Dinklage, Nicholas Hoult, and is released 22nd May in the UK and the following day, 23rd May in the US.
