Having wrapped just last week on the fifth season of The Vampire Diaries, it appears that actress Nina Dobrev won’t be taking a vacation as she has just signed on for comedy horror FINAL GIRLS. The film which is being directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson, the mind behind A VERY HAROLD AND KUMAR 3D CHRISTMAS, starts filming next week in Louisiana.
The film which also stars Malin Akerman and American Horror Story’s Taissa Farmiga, sees Farmiga and her group of friends transported into an 80’s slasher movie starring Akerman, Farmiga’s deceased mother. The group must then unite to stop the films killer from killing them. So LAST ACTION HERO meets HALLOWEEN, with a little HOT TUB TIME MACHINE thrown in.
PITCH PERFECT’s Adam Devine and THE HUNGER GAMES’ Alexander Ludwig provide the eye-candy for the ladies, Ludwig will be Farmiga’s real world squeeze, whilst Devine will be the Lothario of the film within the film. Dobrev has signed on the play ‘the alpha ex-best friend’.
