Matt Smith has quickly become one of the most beloved actors to take on the role of ‘the Doctor’ in Doctor Who history. The floppy haired star has arguably elevated the BBC’s fifty year old television drama to new heights, with the shows popularity reaching an entirely new level across the globe.
It’s easy to see why Smith’s fez-loving, custard-fish finger eating incarnation of the Doctor will be sorely missed, and it will be difficult for us die-hard whovians to move on after his heart-breaking exit last Christmas. Although Peter Capaldi is more than a brilliant fit for the part and will almost definitely give audiences a fantastic re-imagining of the character, we still have at least four months to wait until his official debut. However we now have one more Matt Smith-related treat for those that are still pining for him after his unfortunate departure, in the form of a brand new documentary titled ‘DOCTOR WHO: FAREWELL MATT SMITH’. The special documentary will include all new interviews with previous Doctor Who cast members such as David Tennant, Alex Kingston and of course Matt Smith himself.
You can see a clip from the upcoming programme below:
Matt Smith’s eleventh Doctor will be severely missed and this is just another reminder of the large boots Peter Capaldi will have to fill in his debit series this autumn. Be sure to catch DOCTOR WHO: FAREWELL MATT SMITH on UK screens Friday 18th on Watch.
