Watch: First Teaser Trailer For Zach Braff’s ‘Wish I Was Here’

Zach Braff took an intelligent road to get his passion project WISH I WAS HERE off the ground, by heading to Kickstarter and letting the fans decide on whether they wanted to see the next phase after GARDEN STATE and the answer was a resounding: Yes!

It’s not a literal ‘follow-up‘ to that 2004 movie but I’m more than sure will have a similar vibe of daydreaming, and wanting for something better. The official line is that we focus around the life of 35-year-old Aidan Bloom (Braff), a father and husband who’s struggling to find himself and a place in this life. After he tries to start home-schooling his two kids as he can’t afford private education, Bloom begins to unravel his own life and discover thing he didn’t know himself.

This first teaser trailer introduces us very briefly to the cast but then spins it altogether with ‘Simple Song‘ by The Shins, which is all very Braff and undoubtedly feel-good and I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s done this time out!

Watch the new teaser trailer below now, click here for the Sundance poster and stills and – of course – let us know what you think:

WISH I WAS HERE is released in the USA on July 25th and in the UK on September 19th. Here’s a little poster as well from the character plans and designs direct from the campaign:
