We’re officially into the season of summer movies now. We’ve already had CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (review here), and next week the UK gets THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 (our review has just gone live here). A few months ahead our attention will turn towards 20th Century Fox, when Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated sequel DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES hits screens. Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer are all set for the action-packed adventure, which sees the continuation of the story of a planet of genetically modified apes, led by the legendary Caesar (Serkis).
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
USA Today have debuted ten new images from the film, mostly of apes, and you can check them out below.
The film opens in the UK on 17th July, and the US a week earlier on the 11th.
