The dynamic duo behind such great (and unexpected) hits including CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, 21 JUMP STREET and THE LEGO MOVIE are not the ones you’re gonna call for the return of the GHOSTBUSTERS. Originally an obvious choice, due to their work turning eye-rollingly awful ideas into workable and very succesful comedies, the pair were reported as being in talks with Sony, as all their previous films were also produced at Sony, the home of GHOSTBUSTERS. However, Jeff Schneider, a reporter over at The Wrap, has tweeted that the powerhouse of Miller and Lord are no longer attached:
Hearing LORD & MILLER ended up walking away from GHOSTBUSTERS 3 job. They were the studio's choice but wanted to keep their options open…

Although I love both previous GHOSTBUSTERS films, I’m just not excited for a third instalment. Especially after the death of Harold Ramis. Ivan Reitman, director of the first two films, is set to return as producer, but it seems all my film loving life has been filled with talk over the busters of ghosts return. Miller and Lord are returning for 22 JUMP STREET later in the year, but will not be returning for THE LEGO MOVIE 2 as directors, only as producers. Something tells me they won’t be aching for work.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
