‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Is Already Filming

Remember when Disney said shooting for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII would start in May? Well, it turns out Disney are big fat liars, because it’s actually started shooting already.

In an interview with THR, Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn revealed that filming is indeed underway:

‘We’re actually shooting some of it now… We have a lot of [the cast in place]. We’re just not completely done yet.’

Far be it from J.J. Abrams to tell us who any of this supposed cast might be, or where or when the production began shooting, but hey, if it was up to Abrams, we probably wouldn’t get to know anything about the STAR WARS sequel until we were watching that famous yellow crawl in December next year. And that’s if we were lucky.

Hopefully Disney will spill some beans soon. For now, they’ve just repeated the only bit of confirmed info so far:

‘[EPISODE VII will pick up] where VI left off – and where VI left off is 35 years ago by the time this is released.’

Horn did acknowledge the scripting problems EPISODE VII has faced, with Michael Arndt being replaced by Lawrence Kasdan, co-writing with Abrams, but said everything was in place now:

‘It’s all about the screenplay. It has to be screenplay, screenplay, screenplay… It actually is [where it needs to be] now.’

So, with the ball rolling, it shouldn’t be too long before we at least get some casting announcements. Stay tuned to THN for all things EPISODE VII.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII will be released in cinemas on 18th December, 2015.
