Peter Jackson’s LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy is undoubtedly one of the most influential and acclaimed film series’ of all time. With that in mind it’s difficult to not get excited when the subject of Jackson’s (so far) fantastic HOBBIT prequel trilogy is brought up. With two films down after AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY and THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, we unfortunately only have one sequel left in the HOBBIT series based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s original 1937 novel.
To celebrate the DVD and Blu-ray release of Peter Jackson’s THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, THN had the wonderful opportunity to speak to Thorin Oakenshield himself…Mr Richard Armitage. Armitage has played Thorin for the first two instalments in the HOBBIT franchise, with the upcoming concluding chapter of the trilogy set to complete his perilous journey to reclaim his homeland and fulfil his destiny.
