Watch: New ‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’ TV Spot & Poster

Not only was it the season finale of The Walking Dead last weekend, but we were also introduced to a brand-new TV spot for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES that opens in the UK on July 17th.

The film is the follow-up to the surprise success that was RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, which starred James Franco and John Lithgow. Franco played a scientist who unknowingly gave his chimp Caesar, who was brought to life by mo-cap master Andy Serkis, a serum which resulted in him becoming exceptionally smart. Caesar then started a mini revolution, leading a crowd of Gorillas, Orang-utans and Apes into the forrest.

The end credits teased the spread of a deadly virus that had been contracted from the super smart primates. The sequel picks up several years later, with the disease having wiped out a high proportion of humans. Whilst we have been fighting the illness, Caesar and his follows have been getting smarter, and breeding rapidly. The new TV spot highlights why they are such a threat to mankind, and features what everyone has been waiting for, apes on horseback.

Watch it here now and scroll down for the brand new poster:
