Last night, millions of Americans sat down to watch the season finale of their flagship drama The Walking Dead, and obviously the channel wanted to exploit that massive built in audience to draw attention to their new show Halt And Catch Fire by airing a teaser in a commercial break. The teaser has now made its way online and while it is obviously hard to get fully to grips with how good it might end up being, it does manage to show off their impressive cast a little bit with looks at Lee Pace (THE HOBBIT TRILOGY), Scoot McNairy (ARGO, MONSTERS) and Mackenzie Davis (Smashed). AMC’s official description of the show is as follows:
Set in the early 1980s, series dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Their personal and professional partnership will be challenged by greed and ego while charting the changing culture in Texas’ Silicon Prairie.
Watch now:
I think it looks intriguing and certainly worth a watch, although whether this will be the show to fill that Breaking Bad hole in their programming, I’m more doubtful. The show will premiere in the US on Sunday 1st June, it’s still unclear as to when and where it will be shown in the UK.
