It’s a film which has got Luc Besson written all over it. Hot female protagonist… with a gun. Check. Stylish action. Check. Slick Euro feel and Morgan Freeman. Check, and check. Jason Statham? Well, no, but even so, this still looks bloody awesome. Here’s the synopsis for Luc Besson’s LUCY.
From La Femme Nikita and The Professional to The Fifth Element, writer/director Luc Besson has created some of the toughest, most memorable female action heroes in cinematic history. Now, Besson directs Scarlett Johansson in Lucy, an action-thriller that tracks a woman accidentally caught in a dark deal who turns the tables on her captors and transforms into a merciless warrior evolved beyond human logic.
The first trailer was just released for the film a short while ago, and you can watch it in its entirety in the player below. LUCY opens in the US on the 8th August, and in the UK on the 22nd August.
