Watch: Emma Roberts & James Franco In Trailer For Gia Coppola’s ‘Palo Alto’

There’s another Coppola set loose on the film world, following the almighty talent of Francis Ford, Roman and Sofia – we’ve got the trailer for Gia Coppola’s PALO ALTO.

Gia is directing and she’s adapted some of the short stories of James Franco that are set around a group of teenagers in the States, that are looking for that extra kick of excitement in their life. Sure, there’s been a multitude of movies in this style but this feeks like one of those darker delves into that real-life world of trying to find yourself at that point in your life and thinking you know everything, when the truth is you know hardly anything.

PALO ALTO is set around three different stories of lust, boredom and self-destruction. It’s focused around rising star Emma Roberts, who plays April, a shy-type on the surface but starts getting  a little too close with her football coach Mr B (Franco) and she also harbours a secret love for her friend Teddy (Jack Kilmer – son of Joanne Whalley and Val Kilmer, the latter who also stars). Then there’s Emily (Zoe Levin), a flirtatious young lady who’s out to get what she can, plus a look into Teddy’s life, with his mate Fred (Nat Wolff) and their fall into some form of uncontrollable chaos.

This first look is draped with an indie-vibe, with dark possibilities moving underneath, it had a premiere at the Telluride Film Festival last year but now is all set for a bigger market at Tribeca later this month.

I’m very interested to see what the next level of this amazing movie-family can bring us, watch it below:

PALO ALTO also has a limited US release date set for May 9th, with further dates yet to be confirmed.
