Magic Mike Sequel Announces Director And Title

Magic Mike

Get your dollar bills ready guys and girls; it’s official – the MAGIC MIKE sequel is happening and we’ve got a director and title almost confirmed! Taking over directing duties from Steven Soderbergh will be Greg Jacobs who has been assisting Soderbergh in creative projects for years as a producer and assistant director.  He worked on MAGIC MIKE as both the first assistant director and a producer so he is familiar with the movie, and the thongs. He’s also directed two features of his own; 2004’s comedy crime drama CRIMINAL and 2007’s thriller WIND CHILL.

So what ingenious title have they come up with for the sequel? Step forward MAGIC MIKE XXL. Previous information from writer/producer Reid Carolin hinted the movie would be based on elements cut from the original movie – namely a comedy road trip the strippers will embark on. Hey, as long as they are barely clothed we don’t mind what the plot entails.

There’s been no confirmation regarding which, if any, of the original cast will return but with a line-up that included Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello and man-of-the-moment Matthew McConaughey if they could get the stars to sign on the dotted line for a second time this movie could be a big hit at the box office.
