No, he’s not playing a vacuum cleaner. THE HUNGER GAMES actor Dayo Okeniyi will be taking on the role of Miles Dyson’s son for the first in a new trilogy. The character of Miles Dyson was played by Joe Morton in TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY, and was the key figure in the creation of Skynet, the AI that led to the death of humanity. He sacrificed himself in that film, and it looks as though his son will try and correct the sins of the father this time around.
Okeniyi will be most recognisable to fans of THE HUNGER GAMES as Thresh, but the actor has also had roles in ENDLESS LOVE, RUNNER RUNNER, and THE SPECTACULAR NOW. Alan Taylor, the director of THOR: THE DARK WORLD is set to helm the picture, which will hopefully turn out better than the Asgardian sequel.
Okeniyi’s casting has also fueled rumours that John Boyega will shortly be announced as having been cast in STAR WARS EPISODE VII, as he was also up for the role of Dyson’s son. We’ll have to stay tuned for more news on that.
TERMINATOR: GENESIS is set for release in the UK on 25th June 2015 and in the US on 1st July 2015. It stars Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, J.K. Simmons, and Dayo Okeniyi.
