Brolin Chats ‘Batman Versus Superman’

We all know that the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman in Zack Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL sequel, BATMAN VERSUS SUPERMAN, caused more than a little controversy. Most fans were disappointed that NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN’s Josh Brolin had not been chosen.

Speaking recently, the star of this summer’s SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR admitted that talks between himself and the director did not go as hoped.

“Me and Zack had a conversation about it, and there were several reasons why we said it wasn’t the best idea on both sides. I had mine and Zack had his.”

“To me it’s not about being cool and all that stuff. Looking back over your shoulder and saying that one line everyone’s going to remember? Maybe I could do that. But I do roles that aren’t necessarily all that cool. All my stuff is a little off.”

Brolin also weighed in on the fan reception to the casting news, stating how upset he was with how the masses treated one man.

“People were so disrespectful,“How can you blame an actor for acting? I understand you’re a fan, but people forget that actors are human. When you’re sitting in front of a computer it’s easy to go, ‘Well, I wish he would die. Send.’ But somebody’s going to read that. Their kids are going to read it and the wife is going to read it. We’re so computer-oriented that we forget.”

It appears if Brolin had got his way we would have a dark, brooding Batman, but it seems that Snyder is going down  the cool, wise-cracking route.

That’s a huge leap to make based off of that little blurb. So much so that it precludes me from taking the author seriously.

I agree for the most part. What’s really funny is that Brolin said, “how can you blame an actor for acting?”. Lol, that’s what Affleck does? News to me.

Right? There was absolutely no context in Brolin’s statement to make that stupid assumption lol

Most fans were disappointed Brolin wasn’t chosen? He wasn’t even a popular fancast.
