Having already supplied us with great films this year from twisted revenge thriller MONSTER, to heartfelt romance in VENUS TALK, and most recently the film of the year so far with THREAD OF LIES, CJ Entertainment continue to give North American releases to great Korean films, sometimes even coinciding with their South Korean release dates. The next couple of months are gearing up to premiere two Korean thrillers. BROKEN is yet another Korean revenge tale, in which a father hunts down the young men who raped his daughter and filmed it. On the other side of this East Asian double bill, THE FATAL ENCOUNTER takes action to a period setting.
Both films look great for very different reasons. BROKEN looks set to be very hard hitting and confrontational, while THE FATAL ENCOUNTER looks to still be dark, but of the more entertaining variety. THE FATAL ENCOUNTER is set for a North America release in May while BROKEN is yet to anchor down a release date.
