JUPITER ASCENDING is surely a quintessential love story in the vein of THE MATRIX plot-wise and a device that the Wachowski’s can’t let go but stay with me because I’m somewhat eager to see this futuristic story. The film centres around destitute human woman Jupiter Jones (Milas Kunis), who is targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe, and begins her destiny to finish the Queen’s reign…with the probable help of Channing Tatum’s Caine. Basically, she’s The One and can change their version of humanity – and maybe ours – forever.
It’s easy for any critic to say they’re still trying to emulate that Keanu Reeves-starring film, but I believe they simply love the genre and enjoy exploring these out-of-this-world possibilities. Watch the entertaining trailer by clicking here and bring us your theories for the world we’re about to explore this summer across the world. There’s also an impressive cast in the additional shape of Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, James D’Arcy, Doona Bae, Terry Gilliam and Tuppence Middleton.
These two posters are reasonably self-explanatory with Channing Tatum posing like the warrior, Mila Kunis in her checked shirt looking as awesome as ever and the planet Jupiter taking a spot in both. Take a look:
JUPITER ASCENDING opens in the USA on July 18th and in the UK on July 25th.
