Dwayne Johnson truly is everywhere at the moment. He’s currently finishing off FAST & FURIOUS 7, he premiered a pic for his disaster film SAN ANDREAS, and this summer sees the release of HERCULES. We got to see the first official images yesterday, and now here’s the first poster. Brett Ratner, known for the RUSH HOUR films and X-MEN: THE LAST STAND directs Johnson as the Greek legend, but like other blockbusters of the last decade, such as KING ARTHUR, they are stripping away the more fantastical elements.
The poster is keeping things simple, primarily relying on Johnson’s image and star power to sell the movie with some added fire as well. With a release date looming we can probably expect a trailer soon. I still don’t think we’ve seen enough of the film, with many blockbusters already offering up plenty of publicity. If it truly is more grounded then it porbably needed less time in post. But then surely we could have had a teaser sooner.
HERCULES is released in the US on 25th July and in the UK on 8th August. It stars Dwayne Johnson, John Hurt, Joseph Fiennes, Ian McShane and Rufus Sewell.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
